Taking steps against bullying should be a no brainer, right? However the course of bullying has changed and with so many different social media outlets out there, bullying is not just a push, shove, or name calling; students are taking it to the next level and doing it via social media with embarrassing tactics in mind.

Just take a second and think back to the fancy upper eastsiders of Gossip Girl and there “meant to embarrass” cell phone blasts. Of course everyone is always holding their phone just in time to receive their message. In an era when messages are received quicker than one is able to press the send button. Information is transitioned faster than fast, and that includes bullying that Milken Community Students insist must come to an end.

To put an end to bullying and raise awareness that this is in fact an on going problem in schools; Milken Community School and Compassion Brands teamed up as students put on a student run talent show at 7:30 pm on March 1st 2014. All proceeds from the talent show were donated to the Anti-Bully Foundation & E.A.R.S. to help stop bullying in all its forms.

Prior to the show, their was a cocktail hour where students where interviewed regarding their thoughts on bullying as well as enjoy snacks and a little bit of shopping by sponsored booths. And who were these sponsored booths that support anti-bullying, we love them already, right! Mercedes Benz of Encino, because everyone loves a stylish ride, OPI, Sprinkles Cupcakes: always delicious, Rock Your Hair and more! And of course this Los Angeles event had celebrity guest, Owain Yeoman of the Mentalist as well as several other guest judges to dream enthusiasm as they support a cause that needs to be addressed.
